The
furnished studio apartment is located in a beautiful Vienna Jugendstil building.
The vacation rental consists of one main room, a small kitchen, small entry
room, a bathroom with tub and separate water toilet. The vacation rental is
ideal for a couple who like the comforts of home at an affordable price. The
tub is spacious and you may relax after an eventful day in beautiful Vienna.
You
walk into the apartment through an old beautifully
kept Jugendstil
(the Austrian version of Art Nouveau or
Arts and Crafts) entry way into the small
hallway through the kitchen into the sun
flooded main room. The room's two windows
overlook Max Winter Platz, which is full
of old trees - and that in the center of
Vienna!
The kitchen features a stainless steel counter top and sink, electric stove top, refridgerator, utensils to prepare a full meal and odds and ends which one needs :)
From the kitchen to your right is another small hallway from which lead the bathroom
with tub and sink and the separate water closet.
The main room features original oak 'fish scale' parquet flooring. It is beautifully restored and shines in the light that comes in through the southern exposure windows.

The
studio apartment can be easily reached from the
Vienna airport. The vacation rental is located in the second district, called
Leopoldstadt,
of Vienna. For an exact location, please click on the Vienna
Map. The vacation rental is in an ideal location for all touristic activity
in Vienna. The subway or underground, as our British friends call it, is literally
around the corner. The U1 line will take you to St.
Stephen's Cathedral, which is the geographic center of Vienna, in less than
5 minutes. You can reach Schönbrunn
Castle by changing trains once. You could also walk to the center, which
would take you about 20 minutes - or more - depending on how many Kaffeehaus
stops you make :).
Right
around the corner is the Vienna
Prater or Volksprater as it is called
by the Viennese. It is the place to ride
the Wiener
Riesenrad (in the background on the
right) go enjoy the original Budweiser Bier
at the Schweizerhaus,
etc; in short, live current Viennese folk
culture as well as traditional customs!
For the right clothing, you can do your
traditional clothing shopping right online
at Dirndl-Dress.com!
Right next to the Volksprater is the 'real'
Vienna Prater which is one of the largest
parks in Europe within city limits.
If you walk into the other direction you will wind up at the not so blue anymore Danube. The river is still a well of entertainment and calm, watching the freighters go up and down, like they have for two thousand years.
You
may rent bicycles in the Volksprater for
the day or if you need it for less than
an hour Vienna also offers free
bicycles at many locations (nearest
one is at Praterstern, a 5 min walk)! Enjoy
a calm day exploring old growth woods, row
a boat or go for a pick-nick for which you
did the grocery shopping in the open air
farmers market Vorgartenmarkt around the
corner of the vacation rental.
There is a service from the city of Vienna, where you may order a Vienna map especially for bicyclists. Send an email to info@m18.magwien.gv.at! Vienna has a vast net of bicycle paths and it is the best way to explore the city and its surrounding beauty.
Do not worry! Even though the apartment features a kitchen, you might not feel like cooking. The neighbourhood around the flat is full of restaurants. Even though the district has become trendy, the charm of old style 'Beisln' is still intact. The trendy restaurants are there too, if you feel like treating yourself to something not so Viennese but maybe a little less greasy ;). Delivery does not really exist in Vienna yet - maybe Pizza. If you stay longer than a couple of weeks it might be worth trying. I highly recommend the Konditorei at the corner downstairs for some traditional Viennese sweets and coffee or for breakfast!
The apartment costs 350 Euros (current US$ amount) per week for two people. Sheets and towels are changed weekly for longer stays. Cleaning service once a week. If you want to stay for shorter periods and there is availability (mostly it would have to be a window date and on short notice, that we accept shorter rentals) there is an additional cleaning charge of 30 Euros.
Please, check availability and book online or contact michael@vienna-vacation-rental.com, call Michael, the owner on his mobile phone, at +436502536600 or even write per snail mail to Michael Fischer, Max Winter Platz 6, 1020 Wien, for additional information. Deposits will be refunded minus a 50 Euro cancellation fee, if you cancel more than 30 days prior to your arrival in Vienna. If you cancel less than 30 days we will not refund your deposit, unless we rerent the vacation apartment.
